
Biography
Duane A. Naddy, M.Ed. is an adjunct lecturer for both the Computer Science (CPST) and Digital Design (DDSN) departments at Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Campus. He began teaching for Tulane in the Fall of 2008 and has taught ten different courses. He was honored by being awarded Tulane’s distinguished faculty status in 2014.
Before coming to Tulane, Mr. Naddy served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for 26 years. He was originally trained by the USAF as a civil engineer in the area of Electrical and Mechanical Technologies, and was involved in training/teaching/educating for most of his military career. During the final 19 years of his USAF career, he was involved with distance learning (aka advanced distributed learning) and the application of the newest training technologies and software programs to the USAF’s technical training mission. At his retirement from USAF active duty, he was the Chief of the Instructional Technology Unit (ITU) at Keesler Air Force Base, MS. The ITU develops Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) in most of its variant forms (ICW, CBT, ITV, technology insertions, etc.) for the AF. Since February 2008, he’s been employed as a civilian by the Department of the Air Force (DAF) as an Information Technology Specialist, developing HTML- and Adobe Flash/Animate-based Interactive Courseware for web delivery. He is also the web designer and web master for three organizations.
Mr. Naddy holds an Associate's of Science, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; a Bachelor's of Science in Education and Psychology, Technical Occupational Education (Highest Honors; 4.0 GPA), University of Southern Mississippi; and a Master's of Education, Curriculum and Instruction: Technology (4.0 GPA), Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ.
