Undergraduate Admissions Process

Step 1: Complete Your Application

Undergraduate applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be in good standing from any prior higher education institution attended.

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Upload your official government-issued photo ID.
  3. Pay the $40 application fee.
  4. Submit your transcripts. If an undergraduate applicant has attended a higher education institution for college credit we will need transcripts from those schools. Please note that any copies of your transcripts that you upload will not be considered “official,” but you may be admitted with unofficial copies of your transcripts. The School of Professional Advancement requires official transcripts prior to registering for classes.

Electronic transcripts are preferred. Have official electronic transcripts sent to soparecords@tulane.edu directly by the institution.

Paper copies of official transcripts may be mailed to:
    Academic Records
    Richardson Bldg. #5
    Suite 204
    6823 St. Charles Avenue
    New Orleans, LA 70118

If you are not seeking a degree or certificate (non-matriculating), you are not required to submit official transcripts. Please note that non-matriculating students are ineligible for federal financial aid. Should you elect to pursue a degree or certificate after being admitted as a non-matriculating student, you will be required to submit official transcripts.

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid

Federal financial aid, primarily in the form of loans, is available to degree-seeking graduate students. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Visit the Office of Financial Aid’s website for more detailed information.

Step 3: Accept the Offer of Admittance

You will receive an email letting you know that your admission decision is available in your application portal. When you are admitted, you will be required to take two actions:

  1. Accept your Offer of Admittance.
  2. Pay your $25 deposit toward your first term of enrollment.* **

*Payment by credit card is preferred. If you choose to pay by ACH or bank draft, the deposit may take up to 14 business days to clear and could delay your access to course registration.
**Tulane employees using the tuition waiver must still pay the deposit.

Step 4: Activate Email

Once your enrollment deposit is received, you will receive your Tulane email address and user ID, sent to the personal email address listed on your application. For email assistance, contact the Help Desk at (504) 862-8888. An active Tulane email address and password allows you access to Gibson Online, Tulane’s student portal used for class registration, library access, financial information and much more.

Step 5: Schedule Classes

Review the semester’s course offerings online. Be sure to click the School of Professional Advancement search button when reviewing the schedule of classes. Finally, to register for your selected courses, visit Gibson Online.

Step 6: Submit Immunization Compliance

The immunization compliance form is provided to each student as part of the online application. The form must be completed and filed electronically with the Tulane Student Health Center. For questions about the form and immunization requirements, contact the Student Health Center.
